It’s St George’s Day and that means it’s time to reveal our latest logo. For England’s Patron Saint Day ducky has put on a suit of armour, picked up a lance and is off to vanquish a dragon, but not before he’s found some great competitions to celebrate St George. This is actually quite a tough thing to do as a lot of competitions could be deemed to have an association with England… but let’s see what we can do!

The most obvious starting point is football! Bargain Booze have England football shirts to be won (weekly until 10th May), as do National Express (ends 30th April) and Nationwide Football.
Of course there are also all those World Cup competitions too! Plus we shouldn’t forget that England are hoping to host the 2018 World Cup and BT want people to lend their support and Back the Bid. They have football tickets to be won plus one lucky youngster could be the flag bearer at a forthcoming England match at Wembley.
As the football season draws to a close, the cricket season is up and running and there’s nothing more English than a game of cricket. There are a few competitions to choose from including the chance to win a session with Kevin Pietersen over at Brylcreem. You’ll also get tickets to see England play!
The best part of cricket is the afternoon tea, but unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be any Tea at The Ritz or similar competitions around. That’s not good is it? To make up for that disappointment we took a look at travel site Enjoy England. Their best current prize is a foodie weekend up in Newcastle. We’re not sure about the culinary delights of the North East, but there’s some nice places to drink up there! This one ends on the 30th April, so make sure you enter soon.
England (as well as other parts of The UK) has a fantastic heritage and you can enjoy England even more (blimey that’s a tenuous link) thanks to The National Trust. There are a few National Trust related competitions including a chance to win family passes with Babies Welcome. If looking round buildings and gardens doesn’t do it for you then how about Alton Towers instead?
A number of bingo sites are using St George as a theme today. Some are offering bonuses whilst others are doing prize draws. One that’s worth a special mention is William Hill Bingo who are running some special games today with 10% of the money generated being donated to Help the Heroes.
To round up our St George review we have to mention one of the most famous Englishmen – William Shakespeare. Now competitions for The RSC, Stratford and indeed anything Shakey (as he liked to be called) related is a tough call. However, London Visions do have 2 tickets to Shakespeare’s Globe Exhibition to be won this month (ends 30th April).
Ducky is now off to look for dragons – and yes, thanks mainly to the film How To Train Your Dragon – there are some Dragon Competitions.
Happy St George’s Day!
